Marcus Garvey Park is only 10 blocks from Central Park. With a public pool, an amphitheater, and 3 playgrounds, this park has plenty going on. Annie takes swimming lessons at the pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays so we are frequent park goers. This playground in particular is not the best. Since it is wide open and also an outdoor gym, there are a lot of people without kids in the area. The sprinklers right outside the playground are a lot of fun, but we were quickly overrun by a day camp.
Highlights
• Swings are spaced apart • Police Presence
Lowlights
• No Water Fountain • Lots of trash around the benches • Lots of adults without kids
What It's Got
• 2 Basketball Court • Baby Swings • Slide (with ladder steps) • Swings • Exercise Section • 3 Entrances • Trashcans • Just a few benches • Pavement • Sprinklers outside the fences
